Advantages of Online Casino Slots

Playing slots at a land based casinos is often compared with playing slots at an online casinos.  However, there are several reasons that show the advantage of an online casino slot machine to a land based casino.  The most compelling is the economic one that is offered online.

All casinos, both land based and online, use the house edge in order to meet their costs.  However, it can be said that land based casinos have a much larger overhead cost compared to an online casino.  The most common overhead cost would be the real estate and the furbishing.  Therefore, land casinos have to operate at much larger average house edge than an online casino.  Not much can be done to increase the house edge in casino games such as roulette and blackjack.  Thus, generally the house edge is jacked up considerably in the slots games.  That is why you will generally see the slot machines near the doors or walkways of a land based casino.  In addition, the payouts of slots machines are correspondingly lower than those at an online casino.  Generally, the payouts offered in slot games in the land casinos in Las Vegas are between 90% and 95%.  If the land based casino is on the strip in Vegas, then the payouts are even lower since the real estate costs more and these casinos are usually very attractive in appearance.  The bottom line is that the investments required to sustain these casinos is much greater than land based casinos that are not on the Vegas strip.
 
Online casinos, on the other hand, have much lower costs.  As a rule, the only major cost that an online casino might have is that of the software.  There are legal, administrative and staff costs but these are on a much smaller scale than in a land based casinos.  Thus, online casinos need much smaller margins in order to cover their costs.

Another advantage that online casinos have over land based casinos is that each land based casino can only cater to so many players and no more because physical space becomes a limitation.  On the other hand, there is no limit to the number of players an online casino can cater to since they do not need to worry about physical space.

An online casino just needs to increase server capacities if at all there is a limitation.  Therefore as more and more players join up at an online casino, the online casino needs to earn less on an average from each player.  Thus, the online casinos offer slot games with payouts around 97%.  This is much higher than in land based casinos. For every $100 wagered by players in online casinos the casino on an average pays back $97 to the players.  This amount can add a few extra bucks in your pocket. 

Other advantages of online casinos would be the convenience of playing from home, in whatever clothes you are wearing and at whatever time of the night or day.  Generally, you can play for a few minutes if you want or can stay with the same game for hours. 

The only disadvantage is that you might miss the glitz of a land based casino or the free booze or people bumping into you!
